Taking Vs Making - Blue Ocean Markets

Seth Godin has a great article at Seth's Blog  on Taking a share of an existing Market compared to creating a new Market.

A similar idea you may have heard of is called Blue Ocean markets. If you know anything about sailing you will know that there are large  amount of oceans that very few people have ever sailed over. These are the blue ocean markets.

Is your business creating a new market? I think it is just as important to understand the nature of your business as to be one or the other.

Customer Testimonial - Vital Yoga

Just a quick note to update you on the response to my recent advertising with Coffee News Central Coast Gosford edition. I am a new business teaching yoga. As the advertising was for Term 4 I did not want to have my 13 weeks run in one block when for some of that time I would not be running classes. Thank you for being open to negotiations and agreeing to run my advertisement in three blocks timed prior to the start of each term. This service was very much appreciated!

From the first lot of 4 weeks I received 20 as a direct result of the Coffee News advertisement. Of those 20 enquiries, 8 of the 10 students I have in my only class at this stage were through the advertisement.
